  • The venetian blind is a practical solution not only in offices with glare problems on computer or TV screens/monitors, but also in private homes where there is the desire for an elegant modern solution that allows little light to enter as well as ensures privacy.
  • Blinds comprise high tensile, vinyl coated aluminium slats and slat widths are 25mm and 50mm.
  • All pins are made from stainless steel to prevent rusting (at the coast this cannot always be guaranteed, yet the life span is far longer than that of metal pins).
  • Cords, ladders and head- and bottom rails are colour coordinated (as close as possible to the slatting) to match the colour of the slats.
  • The headrail comes complete with endcaps, plated steel reveal or face fix (universal) installation brackets for 50mm and plated steel fixing clip brackets for 25mm as well as moulded plastic (for 25mm) and metal (for 50mm) hold-down brackets (on request) for the bottom rail. Should you like to receive only universal installation brackets with all your 50mm blinds (therefore no reveal brackets) – please indicate this on your order. Aluminium or metal headrails can corrode if subjected to high levels of moisture and salt, ie coastal areas or close to the sea. One needs only to look at aluminium handles, door and window frames!!
  • Opening, closing and tilting of slats to any desired angle is activated with a clear hard plastic wand through the tilter gear for 25mm. To facilitate the opening, closing and drawing up of the 50mm blind a cord is used instead of a wand.
  • The side of the blind with the lift control (cordlock) is always referred to as the control side of the blind in blinds with split controls. In other words, when a blind is ordered with a left control, the lift control (cordlock) will be on the left and the tilt control (tilter) will be on the right.  This is applicable on aluminium 50mm blinds with a width of 500mm and less but it is standard on all sizes of Modwood and Vintage venetians.
  • Where the 50mm blind has brackets for side returns on boxed valances (for face fit blinds) this is not an option for the 25mm blinds because of the width of the valance edges. Side returns should then be affixed with a strong glue.
  • An operating cord is used to pull the blind up and down. Only operate the lift controls once the slats are in an open horizontal position.
  • 50mm aluminium blinds are supplied standard on a 50mm powder coated galvanized steel headrail.
  • The 50mm venetian blind is becoming increasingly popular. The 50mm venetian is a statement blind and has come into its own as trendy and dramatic, enhancing and complementing the latest building and décor fashions.
  • The 50mm aluminium venetian can be fitted with ladder string or tape (of 20mm wide cloth) depending on the look you desire for the blind.
  • The 25 & 50mm wood-lookalike venetians are manufactured standard with wood trimmings. The 50mm products can be fitted into large-sized windows with ease as they are far lighter than wood and easy to handle. These blinds have become as ultra-modern as the real macoy with the added advantage of stability.
  • The aluminium wood-lookalike blind with wood trimmings is an exciting product as an alternative to real wood. When wood trimmings are requested the blind is fitted with a MDF wood valance and bottom rail, and a basswood wand (25mm only) and toggle which gives the blind an extremely authentic wood look at minimal cost.
  • Over a period of time fading may occur especially on the darker colours! Please regularly tilt slats in both directions.
  • For the 25mm aluminium blinds we supply screws and plugs but NOT for the 50mm aluminium blind.
  • Please note that venetian blinds are made for light control. It is possible to peep through from the outside if one bends down and looks upward, through the gaps towards the ceiling.
  • If blinds are extremely long the lowest part of the slats tends to close not as snugly as the rest of the blind and light control and privacy will be affected. This is normal.
  • Aluminium venetian blinds close to the sea (and all coastal towns are close to the sea!!) should be washed off regularly to rid the blind of salt deposits on the slats and do not allow moisture to accumulate on slats. There will be corrosion if not treated properly!! To do this: remove the blind from the window, lay open on a flat surface outside and rinse off with a hosepipe. You can even use a light dishwashing liquid in the water to be rinsed off afterwards. Wait for the blind to dry and clip back into place once dry. Do not pull the blind up while it is still wet or damp. Slats should also be wiped down with a soft cloth on a regular basis in heavily polluted and/or coastal areas.
  • NB! Be aware that dyelot differences in slatting are possible, therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening.  We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch.
  • All metallic colours, perforated, pure aluminium and exotic coloured slats are especially not recommended for coastal or damp areas. No replacements will be provided should blinds be installed in these areas.
  • Should it be evident that venetian blinds are treated with disrespect, resulting in corrosion and oxidation, these will not be replaced. Before a complaint is lodged, make sure that you do a full investigation into the reason for oxidation, eg windows/doors being left open, too close to the sea, no regular cleaning, window or door frames not fitting snugly into walls, wet or damp areas around the building, thickness and type of glass used for the openings etc.
  • This product is a great alternative in instances where the environment is not suitable for wood blinds and becoming ever more popular.
  • The Modwood (PVC) venetian blind is available only in 50mm width slatting.
  • The blind comes standard with valance and ladder string. If you require ladder tape (the broad tape) use the same examples as for the wood venetian blinds and either colour co-ordinate them or choose something totally contrasting.
  • To affix the valance we supply clear valance clips. Should you prefer velcro please specify on order clearly.
  • These blinds are NOT supplied with plugs and screws!
  • NB! Please note that the lift control (cordlock) and tilt control (tilter) will be on opposite sides of the blind. Should the lift control be on the lefthand side, the tilter mechanism will be on the right and vice versa. The reason being that one needs more ladder on the Modwood than on the wood and the first ladder station starts too close to the edge to fit in both control and tilter neatly. Should you wish for the control and the tilter to be on the same side please request on order but be aware that it might look slightly unbalanced. Please note that if you do not indicate that the controls needs to be on one (same) side only, you will receive the cordlock on the side as indicated on your order – the factory will not contact you to confirm split controls or one side controls.
  • The side of the blind with the lift control (cordlock) is always referred to as the control side of the blind in blinds with split controls. In other words, when a blind is ordered with a left control, the lift control (cordlock) will be on the left and the tilt control (tilter) will be on the right.
  • This product is made from a high quality PVC which is environment friendly. BUT REMEMBER IT IS A PVC PRODUCT which means there is NO guarantee on warping, bowing, discolouring, etc. Over a period of time fading may occur! Please regularly tilt slats in both directions. I am pleased to report that we have received almost no complaints about before-mentioned and for that reason we do not sell dark colours as dark colours tend to be problematic. Complaints that have come through are normally due to installation setup or circumstances under which blinds have been installed.
  • They are highly suitable for places with humidity (different to heat buildup) and where moisture is prevalent which makes this one of the most robust products to install. It is important though that there is ventilation as heat buildup and wetness will cause problems. The temperature between blind and window can be double the temperature in the sun. The PVC slatting is quite safe to use in moist areas but high concentrations of moisture can cause corrosion of the headrail whether aluminium or metal. There is a difference between humidity caused by steam yet enough ventilation and humidity where windows/doors are not opened for long periods of time where one can actually smell the wetness / dampness. Even damp or clammy walls can cause problems to the blinds.
  • Warping of slatting and the bottom rail may occur when the product is used in extreme temperature conditions or the blind is left in one position for an extended period of time. Try and tilt slats to the front and the back on a regular basis.
  • These blinds should not be too wide. Rather split them. We would prefer for this product to be no wider than 1800mm, but we can make the width to 2400mm, but then the drop shouldn’t be too long. If too wide and long at the same time the ladder and cord strengths will be tested to the limit. Hence the sagging in many instances. Nor can the lifespan of the components of the blind be guaranteed as too much strain is placed on them.
  • These blinds must be transported and stored flat until they are installed in the window. Do not keep in a heated vehicle for too long!  Heat in vehicles is tremendous.  If these regulations are not adhered to, the blinds will warp and twist before even having been installed. That is inevitable!
  • These blinds are manufactured for light control and not entirely for privacy due to the thickness of the slats similar to those of the wood products.
  • Long venetians will not close properly at the bottom and light control and privacy will be affected.
  • Modwood blinds are 35% heavier than real wood and large blinds are not suitable for areas where they have to be lifted regularly.
  • They are only suitable inside showers if there is ventilation for them to dry out as warping can occur otherwise and they are not suitable for exterior use. Remember that high concentrations of moisture can cause corrosion of the headrail whether aluminium or metal.
  • NB! The product has to be stored flat and in a cool place before installation – if placed in a skew position the slats will warp before installation!
  • NB! Be aware that dyelot differences in slatting are possible, therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening.  We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch.
  • Should it be evident that these products are treated with disrespect, resulting in damage, unusual/unnatural warping or discolouration, these will not be replaced. Before a complaint is lodged, make sure that you do a full investigation into the reason for the problem, eg windows being left open, too close to the sea, no regular cleaning, window or door frames not fitting snugly into walls, wet or damp areas around the building, thickness and type of glass used for the openings etc.
  • This is a uniquely and proudly South African product as the slatting is manufactured and tested in South Africa and is a very good alternative to Modwood blinds if you are looking for an exclusive style or individual finish and trendy colours to enhance your house and décor.
  • This product comprises several natural and consistent, foiled patterns to give you a superb choice and is only available in 50mm width slatting.
  • A very unique feature of this product is that the grain on either side of the slatting differs – this is not a defect in the slatting and please be sure to point this out to your client. The back of the blind (side facing the glass) will have quite a few knots which will not be randomised and may form a pattern.
  • Vintage slats are manufactured from advanced Polystyrene Polymers (a substance which has a molecular structure built up mainly or entirely from a large number of similar units bonded together, eg many synthetic organic materials used as plastics and resins) which are more rigid than normal PVC. This makes the Vintage slats resistant to cracking, peeling, scratching, extreme discolouration and excessive warping as these Polymers’ melting temperature and heat distribution are about 10°C higher than PVC, therefore stronger.
  • The Vintage slats are totally water resistant, which makes them ideal for damp areas if there is ventilation for them to dry out as warping can occur otherwise. They are also resistant to mildew and have anti-fungal properties, which make them a very hygienic choice.  These blinds are therefore ideal for bathrooms except inside a shower cubicle, kitchens and other moist areas.  They are not suitable for exterior use.
  • Vintage venetians are very easily cleaned by using a damp cloth (with mild water and soap solution) to wipe over the slats or by light dusting or vacuuming on a low speed.
  • Similar to Modwood, Vintage venetians are about 40% heavier than real wood and would therefore also have more ladders and cords. They are subsequently also not recommended as large blinds for areas or openings where they have to be lifted regularly.
  • NB! Please note that the lift control and tilter control will be on opposite sides of the blind.  Should the lift control be on the lefthand side, the tilter mechanism will be on the right and vice versa.  The reason being that one needs more ladder on the Vintage than on the wood as well as on the Modwood and the first ladder station starts too close to the edge to fit in both control and tilter neatly.
  • The side of the blind with the lift control (cordlock) is always referred to as the control side of the blind in blinds with split controls. In other words, when a blind is ordered with a left control, the lift control (cordlock) will be on the left and the tilt control (tilter) will be on the right.
  • These blinds are NOT supplied with plugs and screws!
  • Due to temperatures easily being double to that of natural heat between the window and the blind, the slatting manufacturer advises against using the Vintage in openings or areas exceeding 40°C. It is also recommended leaving the necessary windows a fraction open for enough ventilation.
  • To assist with this ventilation, please note that on reveal measurements we will deduct 15mm off the width (instead of the normal 10mm) and the normal 5mm off the drop. Please then remember to deduct this 15mm off the width should you order final sizes.
  • Over a period of time fading will occur especially on the darker colours! Please regularly tilt slats in both directions.
  • It is also not recommended to use these blinds in front of frosted or bubbled glass which receives direct sunlight.
  • Minor warpages / slat movement are normal with Vintage slatting in direct sunlight and are not considered defects. The warpages / slat movement will restore as soon as direct sunlight passes.
  • Vintage venetians are supplied with a steel 50mm headrail, together with colour coordinated cords and ladders. The blinds are complimented by matching valances and bottomrails made from foiled MDF wood and rounded off by wooden tassels.  MDF (medium-density fibreboard) is an engineered wood product made by breaking down hardwood or softwood residuals into wood fibres and is not waterproof.
  • We supply clear valance clips to affix the valances to the headrail, but should you prefer velcro instead please specify this clearly on the order.
  • Please order these blinds between the recommended sizes as listed in the pricelist, as these sizes have been recommended by the manufacturer of the slatting.
  • Long venetians will not close properly at the bottom and light control and privacy will be affected.
  • These blinds must be transported and stored flat until they are installed in the window. Do not keep in a heated vehicle for too long!  Heat in vehicles is tremendous.  If these regulations are not adhered to, the blinds will most probably warp and twist before even having been installed. That is inevitable!
  • Please remember that 50mm venetians blinds are manufactured for light control and not entire privacy due to the thickness of the slats.
  • These are probably the most beautiful window covering products.
  • Our slat widths are available in 50mm width only.
  • Our products are crafted from the finest quality wood. As these are true wood products there will be variation in colour, grain texture and warping depending on the environment in which the forests are grown as well as from which section of the tree the wood is derived. These are natural characteristics of wood and not flaws.
  • Wood venetians cannot be guaranteed against a natural tendency to warp, especially if used in extremely humid / wet areas, therefore one must be careful not to install them in areas where ventilation is minimal. Remember all wood still remains natural!
  • Close to the sea, try and keep the blind in a pulled up position when windows are fully opened. This will deter the build-up of salt deposit on the slats thus giving the blind a longer life span.
  • Should it be necessary to clean, other than normal regular dusting, use a damp cloth to lightly wipe over the slats. The blind should be completely dry before pulled up again. Never clean a wood blind with a thinner-based solvent as this would remove the varnish on the slats and will cause irreparable damage to the blind. Remember, treat a wood blind as the investment that it is, therefore, handle with utmost care.
  • Our blinds are supplied with ladder string or ladder tape which is closely colour coordinated to the colour of the blind. If you require ladder tape (of 20mm wide cloth) use the same examples as for the wood venetian blinds and either colour co-ordinate them or choose something totally contrasting.
  • These luxurious blinds have as standard a wood valance and bottomrail (either real wood or MDF), wood tassels and cord controls which finish off the product stylishly. When side returns are ordered for these valances (mostly in cases where the blinds are fitted face fit), side return brackets with screws will be issued as part of the standard product.
  • The side of the blind with the lift control (cordlock) is always referred to as the control side of the blind in blinds with split controls. In other words, when a blind is ordered with a left control, the lift control (cordlock) will be on the left and the tilt control (tilter) will be on the right.  Split controls are applicable for wood blinds with a width of 500mm and less.
  • Wood venetians are not a total light blockout product. The blind will close sufficiently to ensure privacy but will allow light into the room. It is therefore not entirely room darkening. Venetians that are unusually long in drop will not close snugly (properly) at the bottom and might let a bit more light through than normal and privacy might be affected.
  • Due to the nature of the product a slight variation in height may occur from time to time. Where blinds are clearly marked as being in the same room or hanging side by side we will try to match and align the finishes and heights as closely as possible. This can however not always be guaranteed.
  • 50mm wood blinds are NOT supplied with installation screws and plugs.
  • Wood blinds receive with the valances clear plastic clips to affix the valance to the headrail. Should you prefer velcro instead please indicate this clearly on the order. Remember that wood blinds are heavier than other products, therefore, it is advisable not to order too large a size as it becomes quite heavy to pull up. Wood used for the manufacturing of slats is a stable wood and highly suitable for wood venetian blinds. Always remember though that it still remains a natural product even though it has been treated for the purposes of putting up in a window or against a door.
  • NB! Slats must be tilted to the open position before the blind is pulled up.
  • NB! Be aware that there will inevitably be dyelot differences (natural product), therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening. We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch and then we try our best to sort them.
  • Over a period of time fading will occur especially on the darker colours! Please regularly tilt slats in both directions. There is NO GUARANTEE on any wood or related products against fading at any stage as the circumstances under which the blinds hang play a huge role in the speed of fading.
  • Should it be evident that these products are treated with disrespect, resulting in damage, unusual/unnatural warping or discolouration, these will not be replaced. Before a complaint is lodged, make sure that you do a full investigation into the reason for the problem, eg windows being left open, too close to the sea, no regular cleaning, window or door frames not fitting snugly into walls, wet or damp areas around the building, thickness and type of glass used for the openings

Vertical Blinds

Vertical Blinds Specifications

  • Vertical blinds define windows with a clean, linear style. Attractive, affordable styles complement any décor and please any taste. Technologically, they offer ideal shading and sight protection for all living and working areas for people with particular demands. With vertical blinds you yourself decide how much light is required for which circumstances.
  • These blinds create a comfortable, individual atmosphere. They are ideal for perfect daylight adjustment as the vanes may be opened wide or partially or the blind may be moved away from the opening completely.
  • Depending on the sunlight and the desired shading or sight protection, you can choose from a wide selection of fabrics. From absolutely dense (opaque) fabrics through to almost transparent materials a wide range of possible effects is available. Total blockout fabrics are the Kenté and Sunblock These ranges are most effective against harsh sunlight.
  • Fabrics are made up of either 100% polyester finished with an acrylic coating or a combination of polyester and acrylic. A huge choice of materials covers various fabrics: plain knitted fabrics and up-to-date designs in woven jacquard fabrics leave you with unlimited choice. Room-darkening blinds consist of an acrylic coating on both sides of the vanes shutting out much light and direct harsh sunlight.
  • The two popular slat widths are 127mm (standard width) and 90mm.
  • Headrails comprise white powder-coated aluminium which fit into metal topclips. For face fit (outside fitting) or for extended fit you may acquire zinc plated L-shaped brackets or extension brackets.
  • Polypropylene ballast weights, polyacetal stabilizing chain for interconnecting weights with snap-on coupling, plastic control chains and cord weight/holder are available in white. Sun can make these components brittle and will have to be replaced at some stage at a minimal cost – regularity will depend on the harshness of the sun.
  • Be careful not to catch the vanes in windows or doors on closure or see to it that the wind doesn’t blow them out as the chain will most certainly break.
  • Remember that light will filter through any vertical blind no matter how dense the fabric is, especially between side of wall and slat. Therefore, a blind will darken a room sufficiently when in block-out fabric but light will not be cut out entirely.
  • NB! Be aware that dyelot differences in fabric are almost inevitable, therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening.  We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch.

CALCULATION OF FABRIC AND WEIGHT AND CHAIN COST:

EXAMPLE is for 20 slats (127mm) of 1000mm (drop) each  blind in Group 1:

Fabric
20 × 1000mm = 20m
20m × price of “slats only per meter” (eg. R8.10 for group 1)
20m × R8.10 = R162.00 (excl VAT)

Weight & chain

20 × price of “weights & chain per slat” (viz R4.05 each for 127mm)
20 × R4.05 = R81.00 (excl VAT)

Cost for fabric & weight & chain
Fabric + weight & chain
R162.00 + R81.00 = R243.00 (excl VAT)

CALCULATION OF TILTRACK TRACK:

EXAMPLE is for a 127mm 600 × 600 blind in Group 1:

600 × 600 blind = R164.00 (excl VAT)

Deduct Euro track = R145.00 (excl VAT)

Add Tiltrack track = R166.00 (excl VAT)

R164.00 – R145.00 + R166.00 = R185.00 (excl VAT)

Price for a 127mm 600 × 600 blind with a Tiltrack track instead of a Euro track in Group 1 is therefore R185.00 (excl VAT)

  • Should it be evident that these products are treated with disrespect, resulting in damage, unusual/unnatural warping or discolouration, these will not be replaced. Before a complaint is lodged, make sure that you do a full investigation into the reason for the problem, eg windows/doors being left open, too close to the sea, no regular cleaning, window or door frames not fitting snugly into walls, wet or damp areas around the building, thickness and type of glass used for the openings, etc.

Rigid Vertical Blind Specifications

  • These vertical blind window treatments provide a practical and attractive solution for controlling light and providing insulation in any room. They reflect solar heat and reduce air conditioning costs by minimizing heat transfer passed through windows but not cutting out heat entirely.
  • The standard width of these slats is 89mm (90mm in our terms). They are hung from the same track as the normal fabric vertical blinds. Holes are punched into the top of the slat into which the runners are hooked. If not handled carefully, these punched holes will tear and brake.
  • The PVC vane materials contain UV inhibitors and provide room darkening opacity to block sunlight, making them ideal for any environment.
  • These blinds are made up of a good combination of stiffness, impact strength and toughness although that does not mean that they can be manhandled or mistreated. They have to be treated with more care and responsibility than any other blind. This is an extremely upmarket blind and has to be handled with great care and caution. Much thought should be given to where these blinds would be suitable, eg guest houses where not only the owner handles them but all types of clients is not a good idea for these blinds. When hooking the slat onto or removing from the runner use extreme caution as the punched hole can break. Should the punch hole break as they become brittle, an easy solution is to glue a 90mm slatholder over the area where the hole is punched.
  • As with any other blind they should be tilted regularly as blinds constantly closed in full sun over periods of time may certainly warp or bend. There have been hardly any complaints about warping and twisting and we have used them in our test box as well with no negative effect. I can however not vouch for blinds where ventilation is limited.
  • As these blinds do not need bottom weights and chain they are child and pet friendly, meaning that should a child or pet accidentally walk into the blind there will be no chain to walk into which could cause injury by tripping or hooking onto the chain. At best the slat would break.
  • For fire retardancy a test procedure was followed: Six specimens were prepared each measuring 220mm x 170mm, three with the longer dimension in the length and three with the longer dimension in the width to test the warp and weft direction. A butane flame was applied to the sample face for 15 seconds.
  • According to our British Standard Flammability Test document received, conducted by Flame Retardancy Finishers & Consultants these blinds are non-flammable and I quote from the test results: “No part of any hole nor any part of the lowest boundary of any flame shall reach the upper edge or either vertical edge of any specimen and there shall be no separation of flaming debris from any specimen”. Take note though that the results may not apply to situations where there is a restricted air supply or prolonged exposure to large sources of heat such as in a conflagration (a very large and destructive fire).
  • The result of an international labtest conducted to analyse toxic elements in the PVC was as follows in diagram form:

  • Be careful not to catch the vanes in windows or doors on closure or see to it that the wind doesn’t blow them out as they will most definitely break.
  • Extremely large blinds, due to weight of slats, will most probably become problematic as very heavy. These blinds are between 35% and 45% heavier than normal vertical blinds so please decide on a maximum width and drop when quoting the client. Try and restrict the measurement to the pricelist sizes suggested. NO guarantee can be given should the sizes be outside of the recommended measurements.
  • When cleaning these slats use a light detergent such as Handy Andy and a soft sponge or cloth. Wipe them lightly if you need to remove dirt marks or spots. In other instances vacuuming or dusting these vanes is sufficient.
  • NB! Be aware that dyelot differences in fabric are almost inevitable, therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening. We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch

Roller Blinds

Roller Blinds Specifications

  • Roller blinds are functional and decorative irrespective of whether for the private or commercial sector. Light, sight or sun protection with roller blinds is always a good and professional solution and becoming ever more popular.
  • Depending on the sunlight and the desired degree of shading or sight protection, you can choose from a wide range of roller blind fabrics. From absolutely dense textiles to fine almost transparent fabrics (sheer), a wide range is available. The sunblock ranges are Triglas, Solar block, Twill, Kanga, Fairy rings, Sateen, Urban Shade & Palm Beach – last mentioned two fabrics both with flock backing (total blockout). The Twill, Fairy rings and Sateen have a polyester backing.  The Bunting, Laurel and Berry ranges are dense but semi-sunblock / light filtering.
  • These blinds are affixed to a mill finish aluminium roller tube into which fits a side control mechanism. We make use of two roller tube thicknesses (viz 32mm & 45mm tube outside diameters) for the lighter to heavier fabrics.
  • The days of the spring loaded mechanism are long gone. By means of a side control mechanism and either a PVC or silver ball chain, the blind can easily be stopped at a desired position. Should you wish for a silver ball chain please indicate clearly on order whether you want a silver coated ball chain or stainless steel ball chain. For the stainless steel there is a small surcharge (see price grid next to each drop). Should you order the stainless steel or silver ball chain separately or as stock this will be charged per meter.
  • The bottom of the blind is finished off with a round colour co-ordinated powder-coated aluminium lath or alternatively a flat C-track inside the fabric hem pocket as desired. Colour co-ordinated powder coated aluminium laths are available in WHITE, BEIGE, GREY, BROWN and BLACK only. All fabrics that cannot be matched to any of the before mentioned colours, will be finished off with a WHITE lath. We also match the operating controls, operating chain and chain weight to these colours. We do not add on lace. We can attach scollops when requested but do not put cord, binding or lace along the bottom edges. Should you wish us to attach a scollop we can only use as the hem finish a C-track inside the hem as the scollop is attached to the hem.
  • Our roller blind fabrics are not hemmed along the side edges as this encumbers the desired rolling action as they roll up too thickly on the sides compared to the middle of the blind.
  • An intermediate bracket (to link two or more separate blinds) is available, which reduces the space between two blinds with 10mm.  When ordering an intermediate bracket, please add 5mm to the width of each individual blind.
  • The 45mm intermediate bracket is 15mm narrower than the normal 45mm installation brackets used on the sides of the blind.  Therefore, please make sure to centre this 45mm intermediate bracket 7.5mm from the front and 7.5mm from the back to make sure the hole for the idler component (non-control side of blind) aligns straight with the holes in the side brackets (for the control mechanism).
  • NB! The blind, especially narrow long blinds, must be guided up by hand to prevent the fabric from rolling up skew. If you do not guide the blind as it goes up, the fabric will touch the brackets and the edges of the fabric will fray. Please advise the client before accepting the order.
  • NB! This product must be installed completely level. If not, the blind will roll up skew with one edge running into the bracket causing it to fray no matter which fabric type. If unsure whether the blind is level please make sure by using a spirit level as recesses may not always be as level as expected or as they seem with the naked eye.
  • Blinds with long drops (especially narrow drops) could bow (bulge) in the middle and cup on the sides. This is natural and NOT a factory fault!
  • The blockout blinds cannot block out light completely as a certain degree of light will filter through between wall and side of blind. A room would however be adequately darkened and sun will be blocked out.
  • The Triglas (PVC) range can make a room somewhat hot if the glass areas covered are large and if the room gets little ventilation. They are extremely suitable though for high traffic areas where an easily cleanable and robust fabric is required. When washing off these blinds be careful not to rub too hard as the outer layer will be damaged.
  • Our roller blind fabric with a natural flock backing is very popular as this resembles curtaining fabric and serves as a sunblock. This fabric should not be washed or dry cleaned. Spot clean fabric with suitable detergent – a small sponge with a light detergent is ideal. Before cleaning the fabric, first test it on an inconspicuous part.  All blinds with flock backing should be cleaned in the same way
  • The Urban Shade, Palm Beach, Sateen, Twill & Fairy rings ranges should be dusted regularly and marks can be removed by sponging gently with mild detergent in lukewarm water. The composition of these fabrics is 100% polyester with an acrylic foamed backing (PVC free) for Urban Shade and polyester backing for Sateen, Twill & Fairy rings ranges.
  • The Screening (PVC) and SheerWeave 4500 screening fabrics cut out glare especially on TV and computer screens/monitors while still filtering through light as the fabrics comprise a 5% openness factor. These products are ideal for business complexes and large institutions. Please note that direct sunlight on a window (eg with sunrise and sunset) will not be blocked.
  • NB! Be aware that dyelot differences in fabric are almost inevitable, therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening.  We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch.
  • LINEA VALANCES: The maximum width for WHITE and SILVER BIRCH (grey) valances is 3000mm, anything longer than 3000mm will automatically me mitred. The CEDAR (brown) Linea Valance is unfortunately only available in a maximum width of 2700m, anything longer will automatically be mitred.
  • The maximum width for the Linea Valance inserts will depend on the maximum width of the fabric requested (e.g. 3000m for Kanga; 2500mm for Sateen; 1800mm for PVC Triglas; etc.), anything longer than the fabric maximum width will automatically be joined. If longer pieces of inserts are required (which need to be cut in the length of the roll), a 25% surcharge per meter of valance with fabric insert will be charged.
  • Please remember to indicate on your order which colour (White; Silver birch; Cedar) of Linea Valance you need.
  • Should it be evident that these products are treated with disrespect, resulting in damage, unusual/unnatural warping or discolouration, these will not be replaced. Before a complaint is lodged, make sure that you do a full investigation into the reason for the problem, eg windows/doors being left open, too close to the sea, no regular cleaning, window or door frames not fitting snugly into walls, wet or damp areas around the building, thickness and type of glass used for the openings etc.

SPECIFICATIONS ON THE DIFFERENT LIGHT FILTERING FABRICS

Roller Blinds Specifications

Double Roller Blinds

Double Roller Blinds Specifications

With the double roller blind, any light filtering fabric (eg SheerWeave, Laurel, Sheer Roller Collection, etc) can be used with any blockout fabric.  When making use of this product the blockout (sunblock) blind hangs behind the light-filtering thinner fabric (or vice versa, as the client would prefer) on two separate tubes but on one bracket which is called the double bracket hence the name double roller. That means that one of the two blinds can be pulled up as required by the client as each will have its own control chain on either left or right or same side.  These double brackets are available in different colours (as listed on the bottom of this page), so please indicate on your order which colour bracket should be used, in cases where the two fabrics ordered differ in colour (eg Solar Block granita [grey] and Fleece sheep [beige]).  Also note that if a c-track is ordered with the Sheer Roller Collection, the stitching as well as the aluminium c-track will be clearly visible through the fabric at the bottom.

We recommend that the roller that will face the interior of the room (the blind in front or furthest from the window glass) be made waterfall, as this gives a neater and more stylish finish to this product.  If you require this option, please indicate clearly on your order which roller blind(s) need to be made in waterfall style.

An intermediate bracket (to link two or more separate blinds) is available, which reduces the space between two blinds with 10mm.  When ordering an intermediate bracket, please add 5mm to the width of each individual blind.

Please also see the specs and information on normal roller blinds.

Dual Vision Blinds

Dual Vision Blinds Specifications

  • The BARK range of fabric in the bigger Sheer Roller Collection hanger is actually a Dual Vision fabric and therefore listed under the Dual Vision prices.  The samples for the BARK fabric were cut larger to better visualize the effect of the printing.
  • The Dual Vision blind is one of the latest window treatments for light-filtering purposes and is otherwise known as the Zebra Blind.  With its contemporary and stylish look it adds a definite statement to any living area or bedroom.
  • The non-Chinese manufacturer of this fabric has three generations of experience in the fabric and blinds industry. They are committed to protecting the environment and by continuously observing the development of technology and through active, efficient and constructive co-operations with clients and suppliers, are committed to quality.
  • These blinds will be manufactured from an exclusive and stylish range of 100% polyester fabrics that filter the amount of sunlight allowed, but still allowing you full privacy when needed. It is a wonderful and easy but highly effective way of choosing just the right amount of incoming light or privacy. This product utilizes exciting and fashionable horizontal stripes in two layers of translucent (sheer) and opaque fabrics.
  • With a single cord control the front layer will be able to move individually of the back layer so that the stripes move one in front of the other creating an open and closed effect with exceptional light control. If the blind is pulled down to its full drop it will be in the closed (privacy) position with only the opaque fabrics being visible. The blind will have to be rolled up to be in the open position where only the translucent fabrics will be visible.
  • The width of the Dual Vision blind will be the size of the cassette. For reveal fit 5mm will be deducted off the width of the blind and nothing off the drop. A further 20mm will be deducted for the components and therefore the fabric size will at the end be approximately 25mm smaller than the ordered size for reveal fit.
  • These blinds are affixed to a mill finish aluminium roller tube (with an outside diameter of 32mm) into which fits a side control mechanism. This tube with the side control fits into an L-shaped white powder coated aluminium fascia profile (cassette) which is rounded off by a fabric insert on the front and this fabric insert will be covered by a clear glossy plastic film.  The roller tube and the side control will therefore not be visible as with normal roller blinds, but they will be hidden inside the cassette.
  • By means of a white side control mechanism with a PVC white or plated silver ball chain, the blind can easily be stopped at a desired position.
  • A chain safety box will also be included with these blinds and must also please be installed with the blind. This box keeps the chain from touching the sides of fabric which is very delicate.
  • The bottom of the blind is finished off with a white teardrop-shaped powder-coated aluminium lath.  Please note that this product cannot be ordered with a c-track inside a hem.
  • We cannot add on lace or scollops to the bottom or cords or binding to the sides of these blinds.
  • Our dual vision blind fabrics are not hemmed along the side edges as this encumbers the desired rolling action as they roll up too thickly on the sides compared to the middle of the blind.
  • NB! Narrow long blinds are not recommended and will have to be guided up by hand to minimize the fabric from rolling up skew. If you do not guide the blind as it goes up, the fabric will touch the mechanism and the edges of the fabric will fray. Please advise the client before accepting the order.
  • We advise to stay within the limited sizes of the pricelist. As these measurements were provided by the manufacturer of the fabric, it might be possible for blinds with long drops to bow (bulge) in the middle and this is NOT a factory fault!
  • NB! This product must be installed completely level. If not, the blind will roll up skew with one edge running into the mechanism causing it to fray no matter which fabric type. If unsure whether the blind is level please make sure by using a spirit level as recesses may not always be as level as expected or as they seem with the naked eye. Blinds may require some adjustment with installation to ensure they roll straight and all stripes are parallel. This adjustment is done in the same way as with normal roller blinds.
  • NB! When two or more Dual Vision blinds in one opening are ordered it may not be possible to perfectly align the stripes due to weaving that may differ. Unlike normal roller blinds, two Dual Vision blinds cannot be connected with an intermediate (“connector”) bracket. All blinds in one opening will therefore be installed and operate individually in their own cassette.
  • NB! Correct measurements are imperative as the sides of these blinds should not be cut with normal scissors. The finer fabric could fray with normal scissors, as the fabrics are cut with a very fine sharp blade.
  • It is not preferable for this blind to be fully opened (lifted) and closed on a daily basis. For the best results, this blind should only be changed from the closed to the open position on a daily basis (have the transucent and opaque fabrics only pass each other once)
  • Due to the nature of this blind’s operation it is not recommended for commercial and/or heavy duty use, but only for light domestic use.
  • The semi-blockout blinds (viz Stria) cannot block out light completely as a certain degree of light will filter through between wall and side of blind as well as between the two layers of fabric. A room would however be adequately darkened and sun will be blocked out.
  • Dual Vision fabric should not be washed or dry cleaned. Spot clean fabric with lukewarm water and suitable mild detergent – a small sponge with a light detergent is ideal. Before cleaning the fabric, first test it on an inconspicuous part.
  • NB. Be aware that dyelot differences in fabric are almost inevitable, therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening. We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch.

SPECIFICATIONS ON THE DUAL VISION RANGES

Dual Vision Spec Table

Roman Blinds

Roman Blinds Specifications

  • Our roman blinds are made up of the same fabric as the roller blinds. Please check Roman Blind Colour Range to see which fabrics are suitable for roman blinds as not all the fabrics for roller blinds are suitable for roman blinds. It depends very much on the flexibility of the fabric. Certain clients prefer the look of a roman blind to that of a roller blind especially in a residential environment.
  • Our standard roman blind, is the super deluxe (bella roma) headrail, comprising the necessary drums and cords. The roman blinds’ fabric has stiffening rods (figure 8) at the back which ensure neat folds when the blind is pulled up. The system operates on a PVC white or silver ball chain. Should you wish for a silver ball chain please indicate clearly on order whether you want a silver coated ball chain or stainless steel ball chain. For the stainless steel there is a small surcharge (see pricelist next to each drop). Should you order the stainless steel or silver ball chain separately or as stock this will be charged per meter. By means of this mechanism the blind can be drawn up to the desired height. (For information on our super deluxe (bella roma) headrail system refer to the following page).
  • The fabric is attached to the front of the headrail with velcro for easy removal when blind has to be cleaned.
  • The mounting brackets are of nickel-plated steel.
  • The bottom of the blind is finished off with a round powder coated aluminium lath, available in white, ivory, grey, brown, black (we try to co-ordinate these bottom laths colours as closely to the fabric as possible, but it will never be a 100% colour match). Should you prefer a C-track in the hem pocket please indicate this on the order. With the C-track we can then add scollops should you wish so.
  • Our roman blinds are not hemmed along the edges. When handled with care they should not fray as long as they do not chafe against any rough edges.
  • These blinds will let through light especially along the sides against the wall (due to the figure 8 components at the back used for the folds and cords) or where two blinds join in the middle. The thinner fabrics serve as sun- and light-filtering blinds.
  • The roman blockout or room-darkening blinds are the Palm Beach and Urban Shade ranges with a flock backing and Sateen, Twill and Fairy rings ranges with polyester backing for thickness. All blinds with flock backing should be cleaned in the same way.
  • To clean the Palm Beach, Urban Shade, Sateen, Twill & Fairy rings ranges, gently vacuum with an appropriate attachment. This fabric must not be washed or dry cleaned. Spot cleaning can be done with an appropriate cleaner – a small soft sponge with light detergent would be the most preferable. Before cleaning with water or detergent, test the fabric in an inconspicuous area. Palm Beach is made using natural cotton fibres which vary in colour.  An exact colour match to the samples therefore cannot be guaranteed.
  • The Urban Shade, Sateen, Twill & Fairy rings ranges should be dusted and vacuumed regularly and marks can be removed by sponging gently with mild detergent in lukewarm water. The composition of these fabrics is 100% polyester with an acrylic foamed backing (PVC free) for Urban Shade and polyester backing for Sateen, Twill & Fairy rings ranges.
  • The PVC screening & SheerWeave 4500 screening fabrics cut out glare especially on TV and computer screens/monitors while still filtering through light as the fabrics comprise a 5% openness factor. This product is ideal for business complexes and large institutions. Please note that direct sunlight on a window (eg with sunrise and sunset) will not be blocked.
  • Please remember that a roman blind made from blinds material does not have the same characteristics as those of a roman blind made from curtaining fabric.
  • NB! Be aware that dyelot differences in fabric are almost inevitable, therefore try and order once off when requiring a number of blinds and indicate whether blinds are in one opening. We can never guarantee the same dyelot in different batches. We even find that there are colour variations in the same batch.
  • Should it be evident that these products are treated with disrespect, resulting in damage, unusual/unnatural warping or discolouration, these will not be replaced. Before a complaint is lodged, make sure that you do a full investigation into the reason for the problem, eg windows being left open, too close to the sea, no regular cleaning, window or door frames not fitting snugly into walls, wet or damp areas around the building, thickness and type of glass used for the openings, etc.

Panel Blinds

Panel Blinds Specifications

  • The Panel blind is similar to the vertical blind and is utilised along the same principles albeit for a few differences.
  • Before I discuss the panel blind in itself it is important to understand that this blind has wide panels depending on the number of panels per track and that the opening of the blinds is either left or right. There is a reverse (panels moving away from the draw cord) and normal (panels moving towards the draw cord) control side but no centre opening or centre stacking. It is also extremely important to understand and advise the client that the panels cannot tilt in an open or closed position such as the normal verticals. The panels are always in a flat position therefore closed alongside one another with an overlap or open therefore behind one another when pulled away in the opening to the preferred side. These blinds can also not overlap in the centre where two tracks meet.
  • The first panel (fabric) on the front rail (rail on which fabric is attached) in the track (top track with 3 or 4 grooves) will always be the front panel as the other panels move in behind the first panel.
  • The draw cord always lies besides the stacked panels (with normal opening). Be careful that the cord does not hook onto the first stopper when opening the blind.
  • NB! Packaging will be done in the following manner: the fabric panels will be rolled over a tube and the track will be packed separately. As all panels are the same size it is not necessary to mark them but it would be helpful if you unroll the bundle as we pack them and start attaching to the velcro. Please ensure that the fabric panel runs absolutely smoothly and flush with the velcro against the top level of the rail that fits into the track or else the fabric will be skew and might make a small bubble at the top of the fabric.
  • Should the reveal of the opening where the blind is to be installed is skew the panels will naturally ”push” into one another at some point towards the middle enlarging the overlap which might lead you to think that the fabric has been cut skew. This however is not the case so when ordering please check that you order in such a way that the panels will not press into any part of the wall.
  • As a result of the differences in widths of the reveals Alutech Blinds & Textiles CC has decided on a 3-panel blind as well as a 4-panel blind as to give you a wider option for your client.
  • To know which panel to install it is important for you as the client to know that the width of the panel track from front to back on the 3-panel is 55mm and of the 4-panel 70mm.
  • The panel track width from top to bottom before the fabric is attached is ±17mm for both track widths.
  • It is furthermore important to ensure whether the client wants a wide panel whereby the 3-panel track will be used. Should you be able to fit in a 4-panel track into the reveal with ease the panels will be narrower.
  • For face fix/face fit the panel track that probably would look the best would be the 3-panel track as it is narrower and the panels can be moved away from the opening towards the wall entirely unless the entire opening in question is glass. Then a part of the glass will be covered by the panels. Should that be the case the 4-panel will be more conducive as the panels will be narrower and the view from the opening less obscured.
  • To indicate the width of the panel fabric I use an example of a track width of 1500mm. In this instance where a 4-panel track is used the fabric width will be ±420mm including the overlap of approximately 60mm with a tolerance of 5mm. A track width of 1500mm in the case of a 3-panel track being used the fabric width will be ±540mm including the overlap of approximately 60mm with a tolerance of 5mm. When testing the overlap width I felt comfortable with the conclusion that a 60mm overlap will be preferred as there then is no chance of the fabric hooking along the edges which can happen when the overlap is too narrow. The approximate widths of panels are shown below each group’s prices.
  • Different lengths of track will determine the width of panel rails in the track as we need to fit in the rails into the panel track therefore affecting the width of the panels of fabric and that is why I used the 1500mm width of track as indication of the width of fabric.
  • The steel topclip that is used for both 3- and 4-panel track is exactly the same, as on the 3-panel track the topclip covers the entire track and in the case of the 4-panel track there is a groove at the back of the track into which the topclip (bracket) fits.
  • The fabric that is used for the panel blind is chosen from our roller range of fabrics as they can all be used for panel blinds, except for Fairy Rings which cups on the sides with such narrow widths.
  • The track as well as the panel rail which fits into the track onto which the fabric is attached with velcro is white powder coated aluminium.
  • It is important to understand the difference between what we call the track and the rail in this instance. The panel track is similar to the vertical track having 3 or 4 grooves into which the panel rails Therefore the track is where the choice is made whether it should be a 3- or 4-panel blind and the rails (onto which the fabric is attached) are cut accordingly by ourselves and fitted into the track.
  • A very important bit of information: Should you at any point need to order components such as the stoppers attached to the panel rail inside the panel track (these resemble small L brackets comprised of PVC) you need to order these stoppers as stopper for the first rail or stopper for the last rail on the two outside rails as they hook into each other in order for the blind to operate. There is also in the track (similar to headrail in vertical lingo) a T-stopper for the middle panel rails. On a 3-panel track there are two T-stoppers for the one middle rail, and on the 4-panel track there are two T-stoppers for each of the two middle rails, ie four in total (on the 4-panel). This should not concern you too much as the blinds are assembled in our factory. It should not be necessary if the blinds are cared for and treated with the same care as any other blind but you need to know what to order to receive the correct components if needs be.
  • No bottom chain is required for these blinds. A white powder coated aluminium flat bar 30mm from top to bottom x 3mm thickness serves as bottom weight. The length of the bar will be determined by the width of the fabric panel.
  • The pocket of the blind at the bottom that will serve as hem will ALWAYS be straight-stitched (not zigzagged) at the top as well as along both sides for the bar not to move out of the pocket. Only with the Kenté and Solar block ranges will these pockets’ top and sides be glued and NOT stitched. The pocket width from top to bottom will be approximately 45mm with a tolerance of 3 – 5mm.
  • When you measure for a panel blind your measurements are EXACTLY similar to that of a normal vertical blind, ie reveal (with or without deductions) / face fit or exact. The calculations are done by the factory as normal.
  • Remember that light will filter through any blind no matter how dense the fabric is, as there can always be light between side of wall and slats in this case panels. That is one of the reasons why I make the overlap 60mm for the least light to filter through. Therefore, a blind will darken a room sufficiently when in block-out fabric but light will not be cut out entirely.
  • Also remember that all blinds material (whether it be fabric / aluminium / wood) can keep a measure of sun out and a room darkened but it does not serve as a cooling agent in any room as a blind does not serve the purpose of an air-conditioner.
  • NB.

Security Shutters & Gates

Security Shutters Specifications

  • We are proud to introduce you to our newly launched window treatment; combining style, elegance and safety into one product which will add appeal and value to your home – our custom designed FortiShield ™  Aluminium Security Shutters (FSSS) – the ultimate solution to design and safety.
  • With more than 15 years’ experience in designing and manufacturing aluminium shutters, our production team have proven the quality, stability and security of this 100% locally manufactured shutters.  A robustly safe product is combined with intense dedication to design, thus unifying strength and elegance.
  • Our FSSS are the only shutters in South Africa which is available with secure shutter stiles and frames in a choice of either aluminium (Premium FSSS) or powder coated pre-galvanized steel tubes (Standard FSSS) both versions fitted with extruded 90mm aluminium adjustable louvres.  By having this powder coated pre-galvanized steel tube frame option available, we provide a more cost effective option, especially for indoor use, with absolutely no “loss” to elegance or security.
  • Each 90mm louvre blade is fitted with an 8mm pin, with plastic end caps covering the mounting holes on the sides.
  • Using highly robust locks, the FSSS is locked and secured with a 10mm thick locking rod, protruding into the floor and into the top track.  With this full length vertical lock system, safety and non-lifting of the shutter out of the bottom track is assured.
  • Two lock system options are available – single or optional double-sided lock (lock on the inside and the outside of the shutter) with a Master key per job.  The double-sided lock system will attract a small surcharge.
  • Our robust ISEO locks are manufactured from galvanized steel into a pick-resistant boxed case, ensuring that any attempt to force open the rods fitted to the dead bolts is countered by the internal mechanism.  Dead bolts are different from the normal spring bolts lock in the sense that a dead bolt cannot be moved to the open position in any other way than rotating the lock cylinder with the key; whereas applying force to a normal spring bolt lock allows the spring that holds the bolt in place to retract and thereby opening the lock.  The dead lock system therefore makes the FSSS more resistant to entry without the correct key.
  • A lock pin for locking of the adjustable louvres is optional, but removing the keys from the lock is always advised for advanced security and aesthetic appeal.
  • This FSSS is supplied with anodized “raw” aluminium hinges (meaning they are not colour co-ordinated, thus silver in colour).  Colour co-ordinated powder coated hinges, however, are available at a surcharge.
  • The top track of our FSSS is aluminium and together with the accompanying hardware this sliding system is manufactured by an international company with nearly 60 years’ experience in sliding systems.  These tracks are accompanied by nylon bushes at the top and bottom of the track which secure and guide the different panels of the FSSS along the tracks.
  • The top fixing support hanger that slides in the top track is also uniquely designed with each hanger using 6 gliding wheels ie 4 on the sides and 2 above, to slide in the track – ensuring smooth and silent operation with the necessary stability a security product of this nature requires. These hanger gliding wheels can easily carry a maximum weight of 200kg each.
  • Being made entirely from aluminium or combined with powder coated pre-galvanized steel tubes and aluminium louvres, these shutters are not only reliable and long lasting, but they will also not warp, crack or peel and are also not inclined to rust and are therefore ideal for indoor or outdoor use (entire aluminium construction for outdoor application at the coast is always recommended, otherwise corrosion will most likely set in very quickly).
  • FSSS can be fitted reveal (inside an opening) or face fix (in front of an opening).
  • With the powder coating containing UV-treatment, these shutters will also not fade easily.
  • The FSSS is also easily maintained and can be cleaned effortlessly with soap and water.
  • These shutters are suitable for windows, doors and patios and are ideal to dampen sound and control sunlight and temperature.  They are also ideal for privacy control.
  • A clear, open view through the shutter louvres is also guaranteed with the tilt lever (used to tilt the louvres open and close) being on the side making sure it does not hamper your panoramic view.
  • FSSS are available as the “normal”, hinged cottage style in a frame, open and close type shutters; but can also be orders as bi-fold; bi-pass and slider shutters.
  • We have two types of bottom tracks for the shutter, a bull-nosed profile that can also be fitted on top of the floor surface or in a U-channel than can be recessed into the floor for a neater, more attractive and unobstructed finish.
  • All shutters are custom made according to the specific measurements and requirements of the end-user and supplied with a powder coated finish in a range of colours with all materials being sourced in South Africa.
  • Being strongly aware of the fast pace and clear deadlines in our industry, 3-5 weeks lead time from order to delivery, ensures that we always stay a step ahead.
  • Guarantee period of 10 years.
  • Any product and installation queries (if shutters were installed by us) have to be reported to our offices within 10 days of installation.  If no reports are received within this time frame, the complete and entire product will be accepted as being in good and working order and accepted as such by the client (end-user).
  • Complete blocking out of light can never be guaranteed 100% as this is dictated by several external factors (e.g. wall finish; surfaces; levels; type of bricks; etc.) and minimal light may still filter in depending on application.
  • Powder coated aluminium products may be subject to slight colour variations.
  • Please contact our offices for any further information or facts required.  Rather be sure than give clients incorrect information!
  • The size that is ordered will be the size delivered and no deductions will be made on the ordered measurements unless measured by ourselves.
  • Any damages caused by the incorrect application of these shutters (whether interior or exterior) would result in repair costs and in such an instance neither the manufacturer nor the re-seller can be held responsible for any charges.
  • Should it be evident that these products are treated with disrespect, resulting in any kind of damage, these will not be replaced.  All necessary replacements / repairs / transport costs will be payable by the client in these instances.  Before a complaint is lodged, make sure that you do a full investigation into the possible reason(s) for the problem, eg obstacles interfering with the operation of the shutter, etc.
